Mushroom Identification Model Computer Vision Project
This model is able to identify and classify mushrooms based on image data. The model is able to recognize certain classes of mushrooms that are commonly found throughout the state of Maryland. It is important to note that my model should not be utilized as a predictor of poisonous mushrooms. Its sole purpose is for mushroom identification and biodiversity recognition. It cannot accurately predict poisonous vs. non-poisonous mushrooms. It is intended to educate about the biodiversity of mushrooms that are found in the state of Maryland. All images were sourced from various “research-grade” iNaturalist postings, where the observations took place in the state of Maryland. This model was created for a class assignment in AI and Natural History at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
Trained Model API
This project has a trained model available that you can try in your browser and use to get predictions via our Hosted Inference API and other deployment methods.
