Here are a few use cases for this project:

  1. Inventory Management: The model can be used to keep track of the inventory levels in convenience stores in real-time. It can automatically identify the specific products on the shelves and count their quantities, providing a dynamic view of the inventory and enabling the system to alert when stocks are low or high.

  2. Automated Checkout: This model can enable the development of apps for a self-checkout system where customers can point their phone cameras at the items they are purchasing and the items would be recognized and added to their digital basket.

  3. Consumer Behavior Analysis: Businesses can use this model to analyze shopping patterns and behaviors by identifying which products customers pick up and put back, how long customers spend looking at certain items, etc.

  4. Shopping Assistance: Customers in an unfamiliar store can use an app with this model to help locate items. customers input the wanted item name and the app guides them to the products in the store.

  5. Interactive Advertising: When the customers point their camera at a product, the model can recognize the product and provide additional information about the product, such as promotional details, nutritional information, or even suggest similar products. This enhances the shopping experience by making it more engaging and informative.
