This is a model to identify different species of Anoles found in Florida. This includes 6 classes, including the native Green Anole (Anolis carolinensis) and the non-native Brown Anole (Anolis sagrei), Knight Anole (Anolis equestris), Jamaican Giant Anole (Anolis garmani), Bark Anole (Anolis distichus), and the Crested Anole (Anolis cristatellus). While this may not be all the Anoles possibly found in Florida, this model is in its infancy and could be expanded upon with more successful results. The goal of this model is to help identify between the different anoles for purposes related to, but not limited to, ecology, collection, and conservation. Images were collected via the iNaturalist database (Research grade photos), and the Florida Museum Herpetology database.
*This model was created for a class assignment in AI and Natural History at St. Mary’s College of Maryland
