Description

This model aims to identify three of the most commonly sighted snakes in the Lusby, Maryland area, venomous and non-venomous, for educational purposes to the community. Due to stigma, snakes are often killed even when they are overall harmless. Through this model, I hope to educate on the benefits of snakes to our ecosystem as well as encourage safe handling. I used Roboflow's Object Detection Model, annotating species using the Bounding Box feature. Additionally, this model was created for a class assignment in "Artificial Intelligence and Natural History" at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
