Here are a few use cases for this project:

  1. Recycling Sorting Application: EcoNet can be used in recycling facilities to improve waste sorting. By identifying different recyclable items such as bottles, papers, or jars, the model can help in distinguishing between recyclable and non-recyclable materials, thus improving the efficiency and sustainability of recycling.

  2. Eco-friendly Mobile App: This model could be integrated into an app that raises awareness about recycling and waste management. App users would capture a picture of an item, and the model would identify if it's recyclable (bottle, paper, jar) or not, helping users learn and establish responsible waste disposal habits.

  3. Smart Waste Bins: EcoNet could be implemented into smart waste bins, wherein the model would identify the types of waste thrown into the bin (recyclable or not) and sort them automatically. This could also help to encourage households and institutions to become more involved in recycling and proper waste segregation.

  4. Retail and Supermarket Seamlessness: EcoNet can be used in retail or supermarket for quicker and more seamless item management and inventory controls. It can identify specific items (plastic bottles, paper goods, jars) just by scanning them, which can help in the process of restocking, inventory management, or the checkout process.

  5. Educational Tool: The model could be used as an interactive tool in schools to teach students about recycling and waste management. A hands-on activity could involve students taking pictures of various items and using EcoNet to identify which of these items are recyclable – turning it into both a learning and an environmental awareness experience.
