Description

Here are a few use cases for this project:

  1. Traffic Monitoring: This model could prove helpful in an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) by helping with vehicle classification and count, identifying traffic flow patterns, assessing road congestion levels, and choosing the right traffic management strategies.

  2. Autonomous Vehicles: The model can be used in autonomous vehicles to identify different types of vehicles, pedestrians, and objects on the road, hence aiding in decision-making and navigation, and improving road safety.

  3. Security and Surveillance: In surveillance systems, the model could be used to monitor public spaces, parking lots, or roads, detecting and classifying objects in real-time, raising alerts for suspicious activities, like unauthorized parking, or detection of objects such as suitcases left unattended.

  4. Urban Planning: Transport planners could use aggregate data from this model to determine the type and volume of vehicles in various areas of a city. This could inform infrastructure improvements, public transport planning and help maintaining a balance between different transport modes.

  5. Retail Industry: In stores that sell automobiles, this model could be used to create an interactive digital catalog that recognizes and provides information about different car types to help customers in their buying decisions.
