Description

Here are a few use cases for this project:

  1. Traffic Monitoring Systems: The model can identify different types of signs and signals, making it ideal for use in computer vision-based traffic management systems. It can provide real-time status of the road conditions, indicating explicit sign messages, signals status, and direct warnings or alerts to corresponding units.

  2. Autonomous Vehicles: Self-driving cars or drones can use the model for effective navigation. Identification of numerous sign classes allows the cars to understand crucial road signs such as stop, speed limit, direction of movement, avoiding pedestrian path, etc, thus ensuring they follow proper safety protocols.

  3. Augmented Reality Assisted Driving: The model could be used in an AR-based driving assistance system to highlight and explain different road signs to the drivers, thereby reducing the possibilities of traffic rule violations.

  4. Urban Planning: City planners and architects can use data generated from this model to better understand the placements of various signs and make necessary improvements for efficient traffic flow management.
