Can you judge a book by its cover? Solely using a book's front cover and analyzing fonts, text color, icon/image usage, & background/foreground color choices, maybe you can!

This sample project uses 10-15 different books across the following genres: Performing Arts, Fiction (General), and Mystery & Suspense to begin asking the question, "Wait, can you really judge a book by its cover?

Additional ideas include:

Determining publication date/date range based on wear/preservation of book cover.
Determining target audience based on increased datasets of book covers across vast array of genres.
Determining tone of book based on similar attributes of this project (fonts, text color, icon/image usage & color choice).

Trained Model API

This project has a trained model available that you can try in your browser and use to get predictions via our Hosted Inference API and other deployment methods.
