Here are a few use cases for this project:

  1. Pest and disease detection: Agricultural companies, crop management companies, or automated farm equipment could use the MaizeTech model to detect early signs of diseases and pest infection such as Fall Armyworm, facilitate early intervention, improve response time and mitigate crop loss.

  2. Smart Farming: Farmers and horticulturists could implement this model in their regular inspections process or smart farming solutions to identify the health status of the corn plants, leading to effective treatment applications and thus, optimised crop yield and quality.
