Identifying Presidential Candidates in News Portal Images for Data Mining Analysis

Objective: The primary objective of this project is to develop a system for labeling images on a news portal to determine whether they contain pictures of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the Indonesian Presidential Election in 2024. This project is part of a data mining course aimed at analyzing images used by a news portal in response to the query "pilpres 2024."

Dataset: The dataset for this project is sourced from social media platforms and comprises facial images of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates participating in the Indonesian Presidential Election. The images aim to represent a diverse range of facial expressions, poses, and lighting conditions to ensure robust model training.

This project aims to contribute to the field of data mining by automating the analysis of visual content in news portals related to the 2024 Indonesian Presidential Election. The results obtained can provide valuable information on the portrayal and visibility of candidates in the media landscape, offering insights into public perception and engagement.
