Description

This model is suitable for censusing bat populations based on thermal footage of already-emerged bats flying away from their roost. Roost locations in which bats assemble and fly in dense streams apply well to this model. Examples include large colonies within overpass/bridge sites, as well as bats exiting caves. Thermal color palette or camera presets should be set for warm objects to appear darker in color and cold objects to appear lighter. The model is trained to differentiate between bats and non-bat objects including insects, birds, and planes.
