Description

Here are a few use cases for this project:

  1. Maritime Traffic Monitoring: MiniCleanModel2 can be used to analyse live feeds from coastal surveillance systems or satellite images to monitor and categorize ship activity near shores, key shipping routes, and restricted areas. This would help in enhancing maritime safety and security.

  2. Port Management: By utilizing the model, port authorities can automate the process of identifying incoming and outgoing ships and also expedite service based on the ship type, whether it's a container ship, yacht, oil tanker, etc. This would improve efficiency and traffic management at ports.

  3. Military Applications: Defense agencies can use the model to track and identify potential threats by classifying ships in an oceanic landscape. Automated identification of warship types like destroyers, aircraft carriers, submarines, etc., would be of strategic importance.

  4. Environmental Protection: Environmental agencies could use the model to monitor areas for illegal waste dumping by identifying ships associated with such activities or spotting unauthorized movements of oil tankers to prevent potential oil spills.

  5. Shipbuilding Industry Analytics: The model can also be useful for industry analysts in the shipbuilding sector to track global ship trends -- identifying commonly used ship classes, tracking ship movements by type, evaluating the popularity and utility of different ship classes, and studying seasonal variations in ship use.
