This model was created to help hunters or landowners identify what species of Eastern United States Mammals are captured on their trail cameras. This model detects four classes of mammal:

Female odocoileus virginianus , or white tailed deer does
Male odocoileus virginianus , or white tailed deer bucks
Procyon lotor, or north american raccoons
Canis latrans, or coyotes

This model derives its data from the My Game Pics Roboflow dataset (https://universe.roboflow.com/my-game-pics/my-game-pics) and the Deer_classification_dataset on Kaggle (https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/tharunk07/deer-classification-dataset) This model was created for a class assignment in AI and Natural History at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
