Deer Detection v1 Computer Vision Project
This model was created to help hunters or landowners identify what species of Eastern United States Mammals are captured on their trail cameras. This model detects four classes of mammal:
- Female odocoileus virginianus , or white tailed deer does
- Male odocoileus virginianus , or white tailed deer bucks
- Procyon lotor, or north american raccoons
- Canis latrans, or coyotes
This model derives its data from the My Game Pics Roboflow dataset (https://universe.roboflow.com/my-game-pics/my-game-pics) and the Deer_classification_dataset on Kaggle (https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/tharunk07/deer-classification-dataset) This model was created for a class assignment in AI and Natural History at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
Trained Model API
This project has a trained model available that you can try in your browser and use to get predictions via our Hosted Inference API and other deployment methods.
