Metrics
Here are a few use cases for this project:
-
License Plate Recognition System: The model can be used in a system for detecting and recognizing license plates numbers and symbols from different sources (surveillance cameras, handheld cameras or mobile phones). This application can be used in law enforcement, toll booths, or parking lots for vehicle identification.
-
Traffic Monitoring Systems: Labeling1 could be incorporated in traffic monitoring systems to identify the license plate numbers of vehicles passing through specific points. This could be used for traffic flow management, identifying frequent traffic violators, or in emergency situations.
-
Stolen Vehicle Detection: Government agencies or insurance companies could use the model to identify stolen cars. By entering the number of a stolen car into the system, they can get alerts whenever the car is detected in any of the monitored places.
-
Access Control Systems: In gated communities, commercial complexes, or secured facilities, this model could be used for vehicular access control. Only vehicles with recognized and authorized license plates would be allowed entry.
-
Smart City Infrastructure: In smart cities, the model can be embedded in the infrastructure to monitor and regulate city traffic, automatically ticketing vehicles for traffic violations, determining real-time on-street parking availability, etc.
